Year 3

Welcome

Welcome to our Year 3 page! We’re so excited to share our learning journey with you throughout the year.

Year 3 marks an important transition from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2, and we’re here to support every child—academically, socially, and emotionally—every step of the way.

We believe learning should be memorable, meaningful, and full of opportunities to explore and grow. This year, children will dive into exciting topics such as the geography of the United Kingdom, which includes a fantastic trip to London to bring their learning to life. In History, we’ll uncover the fascinating world of the Ancient Greeks, and in Science, we’ll investigate forces and magnets through hands-on experiments.

This page will be regularly updated with highlights from our classroom, useful websites, and home learning resources to support your child’s progress.

Most importantly, we want every child to enjoy their time in Year 3, feel proud of their achievements, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Warm wishes,

Our Vision

Our Vision

As proud members of the Year 3 Hunningley School Family, our children will:

Grow with Purpose and Heart

Develop determination, ambition, and compassion as they embrace challenges and support one another. They will deepen their understanding, acceptance, and respect for diversity—celebrating the uniqueness of every individual within our school and the wider community.

Strive for Excellence

Approach every task with 100% effort, aiming to go ‘above and beyond’ in all they do. They will challenge themselves, dream big, and take pride in their achievements as they progress through Key Stage 2.

Love Learning, Live Learning

Be inspired by a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures curiosity and ignites a lifelong love of learning. They will build a thirst for knowledge and explore new ideas with enthusiasm and joy.
