Hunningley Primary Academy is a happy and inclusive school welcoming all children and their families. 

To apply for a Nursery place, please complete the application form online and submit to Barnsley Council Admission. You can fill in an application form online the term after your child's 2nd birthday. Children will be offered a place the term after their 3rd birthday onwards.  We offer 30 hours to all nursery children. If you are interested in applying for a place at Hunningley and would like to come for a look around, please contact the school office to arrange a visit.  

If your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023, you can apply online for a place at primary school for them from 1 September 2026. They'll be starting full time school in September 2027

Applying for a place before 15 January 2027 

For your child to start primary school in September 2027, you need to apply for a place before the deadline of 15 January 2027. All school application must be completed online. If you are unable to apply online, please contact Barnsley School Admissions.

Applying for a place after 15 January 2027 

You can still apply online for a school place after 15 January 2026, however your application will be processed until 16 April 2027. 

If your child was born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016, you can apply online for a place at secondary school for them from 13 July 2026. This will be for the academic year starting in September 2027.

Applying for a place before 31 October 2026 

For your child to start secondary school in September 2027, you need to apply for a place before the deadline of 31 October 2026. All school application must be completed online. If you are unable to apply online, please contact Barnsley School Admissions.

You can still apply online for a school place after 1 November 2026, but your application won't be processed until after offer day on 1 March 2027
