Hello families and welcome to our Year 2 page!
Year 2 is such an important year, as it prepares the children for the next phase of their learning journeys. It also equips them with key skills and knowledge before entering Key Stage 2.
Year 2 has a fun-packed, enriched curriculum covering many interesting subjects and topics throughout the year. As well as focusing on the children’s academic studies, we also prioritise teaching our children about relationships, hygiene. We focus heavily upon their emotional and physical wellbeing too.
We will work incredibly hard to support all members of our Year 2 family and we can’t wait see just how much progress they make during the year.

As part of the Year 2 Hunningley School Family, all children will:
Become independent problem solvers and know how to tackle any tricky challenging task that they are presented with.
Develop and have a positive identity.
Have high levels of wellbeing and build resilience, perseverance and integrity. They will develop a sense of social awareness: respecting, accepting and appreciating that people are different and unique in many different ways. They will become independent pupils who are ready to take responsibility for their learning - both inside and outside of school - as they move into Key Stage 2.
Become responsible and take accountability for their own actions.
Have high aspirations in everything that they do and only remain in competition with themselves.
