Science Week 2018 Marble Run Challenge!
As part of our planned activities for Science Week we are challenging the children and families to take part in our competition. Whilst the children are at home today would be a great time to make a start!
Mr Cooper will be leading a special assembly to launch this with the children.
The focus this year will be the ‘Marble Run Challenge’ where children have to design a racetrack or run to carry a marble for the longest amount of time. Any track that is built needs to be portable as the children will be setting up their designs in the hall and in classes. To make the competition as fair as possible, each marble run must be homemade (from cardboard or similar) and cannot be larger than 1 metre in size so that children can bring their own entries to the competition. Again, like last year, there will be different classes of prize; the marble run that carries the marble for the longest amount of time and for the most imaginative marble run design.
Every child will be given a present of a 16mm marble that must be used for the challenge which can be used at home to test designs!

All designs need to be taken to school by children and stored in their classrooms until the class’ allotted launch times on Thursday 22nd March. Please ensure all designs are marked with names!
Thank you for your continued support, I can’t wait to see your fantastic Marble Run entries!
