Hunningley Primary School Building Works

Dear Parents and Carers,

Hunningley Primary School Hunningley Lane

Barnsley South Yorkshire S703DT Tuesday 28th February 2017

Hunningley Primary School will be undergoing further building works and refurbishment. The work will include 2 new classrooms and new toilet facilities in KS2, the refurbishment of the existing KS2 classrooms and a revamped library area. When the work is complete we will also have new playgrounds at the rear of school, with all staff car parking at the front.

Work at the front of school will begin on Monday 13th March.

The main site compound and work will be on the existing KS2 playground. There will be a path around the site to provide access for parents and children at the start and end of the day. KS2 children will line up in the area outside the KS2 exit door at the rear. Please ask your children to stay away from staff cars whilst waiting for the whistle to be blown. All KS2 classes will leave by the same door. UKS2 will finish at 3.10pm and LKS2 at 3.15pm. We hope this will ease some of the anticipated congestion, but please be patient whilst we get all the children out.

As the KS2 playground is now out of bounds, there will be no vehicle access to the school site for Breakfast Club or for collecting from after school clubs without a disabled pass. The staff car park at the front will be coned off for safety to allow children to cross at these times. Also for safety, contractors’ vehicles will not access the driveway between 8.15-9.15am and 3-3.30pm.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience to you whilst the works are being carried out. However, we are very excited about the work being done and the improvement it will make for our children. We look forward to sharing it all with you in September.
